Propolis is particularly effective in treating infections and relieving pain thanks to its antimicrobial and antibacterial properties.
Propolis is used on wounds and bruises only to treat sore throat, stomach aches or cold symptoms.
When used regularly, propolis can help relieve persistent allergies and headaches.
Propolis has powerful antioxidant properties. These help to eliminate free radicals in the blood stream. Free radicals are caused by corrupted molecules in the blood, and can lead to long-term problems. Propolis antioxidants help to repair damaged molecules in order to balance the oxygen content and maintain a healthy and balanced blood flow.
Propolis is used for canker sores and infections caused by bacteria, viruses and others. Propolis is also used for nose and throat cancer; To stimulate the immune system; And for the treatment of gastrointestinal problems.
Propolis is also used extensively as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent.
Excellent small home remedy, propolis will be used to treat all common disorders that come to spoil your life such as colds, infections, fever pimples, various pains and inflammations.

Propolis origins

It is the bees that create propolis, a natural resin used to build their hives. Propolis is made from buds of other conifer trees, beeswax and other secretions from bees. Historically, propolis has been used in Greece to treat abscesses. The Assyrians also used propolis to heal wounds and tumors, while the Egyptians used it for mummification. Today, propolis is found in various products such as chewing gum, cosmetics, creams, lozenges and food supplements.
It is frequently used in foods and beverages because of the many medicinal properties that are attributed to it.

Propolis composition

Propolis, like other bee products, is very rich from a nutritional point of view. It contains amino acids, vitamins and minerals.
Propolis also has a very high content of bioflavonoids that are very important in all healing processes.
Apart from vitamin K, propolis has almost all the essential vitamins with contents more or less important according to the vitamins. And apart from sulfur, propolis contains all the minerals needed by the body.
Propolis, for example, contains vitamin A, vitamin B1, B2, B3, albumin, calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, silica, potassium, phosphorus, manganese , Cobalt and copper.
In addition, propolis contains approximately 500 times more bioflavnoids than an orange.

Propolis: Dosage

It all depends on the problems you want to treat, but in any case, propolis should not be taken lightly.

As an example, here are some indicative dosages for the most common disorders treated with propolis:
- To disinfect the mouth, make a mouthwash with water and propolis 3 times a day.
- To treat cold sores, put a cream based on propolis 4 to 6 times a day, as soon as possible after the first symptoms appear.
- To treat an infection, a propolis capsule 2 to 3 times a day depending on the chosen dietary supplement associated with good hydration.
For any preventive use of propolis-based food supplements, follow the recommended dosages in the package leaflet, and always talk to your doctor before starting a cure.

Propolis Benefits

Historically, man has used propolis as an antiseptic since the time of ancient Egypt. The application of propolis on wounds has greatly improved healing and through the centuries, this substance has been studied and other medicinal virtues have been discovered.
In recent decades researchers have multiplied discoveries and it is now known that propolis can increase the effects of other antibiotics such as penicillin, but it can also strengthen the immune system and act as a Natural antibiotic.
Studies are underway to see if propolis can become an effective treatment for the prevention of certain types of cancer, but its very high antioxidant content may suggest that it will soon be considered effective in this area.
The anti-angiogenic effects of propolis have been demonstrated, as has the increase in natural defense mechanisms against necrosis, tumors and infections.
Effects on the immune system include activation of macrophages, modulation of lymphocyte and antibody proliferation, production of cytokines, and negative regulation of transcription factors. The anti-tumor effects observed were attributed to an improved immune response.
Propolis has also shown interesting results on Hyperglycemia in a small clinical study in patients with type 2 diabetes.

Contraindications and side effects Propolis

Propolis is a very safe product that can be used by any healthy adult without any known allergy problems to bee products.
Obviously, in case of allergy, you should avoid propolis products, including food supplements that do not contain much.
Apart from this, there is no particular contraindication to the use of propolis, and undesirable effects are very infrequent.

Reviews of Propolis

Propolis is a treasure from a medicinal and nutritious point of view. It contains an impressive number of vitamins and minerals, and its effectiveness in treating infections and inflammations is no longer to be proven. As a natural disinfectant, propolis is today logically found in many food supplements, but also in cosmetics and in additives for products of everyday consumption, to the detriment of bees.
Just like man does with all the riches he finds, he exploits the sources of propolis to the utmost, regardless of the importance of the role of bees in the balance of our planet.
Despite this, propolis remains a demonstration of what Mother Nature is capable of, and it is not for nothing that the great pharmaceutical companies are inspired to create medicines in order to derive maximum benefit from them.

Propolis Associations

Propolis is often associated with honey as a principle, but it is also often associated with fennel seeds, linden, eucalyptus and thyme to increase antimicrobial and antibacterial effects.

The benefits of propolis for herpes with thyme and echinacea.
The virtues of propolis with acerola as immunostimulant.
For extinction of voices with eucalyptus or thyme.
For rhinitis and colds with thyme.
For respiratory tract infection with eucalyptus and pelargonium.
For sore throat with pelargonium.
