Effects of date palm pollen on masculine fertility

The date palm has always been linked to the culture, history, landscape and food of different Arab peoples, such as the Maghreb or Arabia countries. Its fruits, the dates, are a basic pillar of the diet of these regions, because they have a great nutritional power: a high content of carbohydrates, potassium, iron and phosphorus.

Another product extracted from this tree is less known, the palm pollen or date palm pollen.

Palm pollen has many medicinal properties: fighting against various body ailments and promoting fertility. Among its components are estrogen (sex hormones), which activate egg production and regulate the female menstrual cycle. In the case of men, it improves the quality of sperm, since it increases the number of spermatozoa and facilitates their mobility.

These propertiesalso make palm pollen a good natural aphrodisiac to fight against lack of sexual desire, helping to increase libido in both men and women.

Palm pollen is composed of approximately 17% glucose, 22% protein, 54% calcium and vitamins B7 and B. Mineral elements such as phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, iron and hormone estrone are also found among its elements. In addition, it is rich in enzymes needed for metabolism, and also has antioxidant oils to activate and revitalize the body's cells.

Date palm pollen for male infertility

Palm pollen is an effective herbal remedy for male infertility. It has been found to help improve sperm quality without any side effects.

It is estimated that about 50% of male infertility is treatable because it is usually caused by lifestyle, environment, and nutritional factors. In fact, infertility affects about 15% of couples. However, those who suffer from infertility may consider trying a natural remedy to solve the problem. Sesame seeds can help fight male infertility. Apart from this, studies suggest that palm pollen can be effective in improving sperm quality.

The palm tree or Phoenix dactylifera is a plant native from North Africa and has also been cultivated in Arabia and the Persian Gulf. In fact, palm pollen has been widely used in traditional medicine for the treatment of male infertility.

Indeed, palm pollen contains estradiol and flavonoid components that can have positive effects on sperm quality. Iranian researchers conducted an experimental study in 2014 to study the effect of palm pollen on sperm parameters, as well as on the reproductive system of adult male rats. This study was published in the Iranian Journal of Reproductive Medicine.

Oral administration of palm pollen has been shown to improve sperm count, DNA quality and motility only 35 days after starting to consume it. Approximately 36 rats were included in the study and were divided into several experimental groups, where each of them consumed different doses of palm pollen. The researchers took blood samples to determine their serum levels, after which it was found that 120 and 240 mg / kg of dose contributed significantly to improving the quality of their sperm.

The study concluded that there is no observed side effect in subjects after the consumption of palm pollen and that it can improve male fertility factors. While the effects have not yet been studied in humans, this herbal remedy still has some potential in the natural treatment of male infertility.

Palm pollen is available as a powder and before deciding to take it, you should consult an Ayurvedic doctor for the correct dosage.
