Haltit or Ase Fetide, also called "devil's shit" comes from the ferule, a plant that grows in the Middle East. Traditional Tibetan, Ayurvedic, Egyptian, Islamic and European medicines used Haltit to treat nervous and spiritual diseases. It is also an aphrodisiac by its pungent perfume. Haltit can be used in some recipes of Indian cuisine.
